赤峰桥位于天津市中央商务区,横跨海河,是国内唯一座斜塔双索面弯斜拉桥。因其独特的造型而成为天津的地标。而因其充满动感的设计,赤峰桥在照明方面碰到了若干问题。包括灯具维护及更换光源的难度,较高的光污染及溢散光,较低的光线一致性及眩光的控制。显而易见的是,如果使用传统高杆形的大功率(250-400W)灯具,大桥将会显得比较杂乱。

经过广泛的实地调查及对照明方案的展示,索恩照明的Orus灯具因其平光专利技术被确定为赤峰桥的照明方案
Orus配备特殊的双向对称光学系统,配光独特锐利,使光线横向地投射到路面上。使用一个35W的陶瓷金卤灯,光线均匀度良好,最低限度减少眩光,降低能耗。除此之外,Orus以0.9米的安装高度确保对车辆不会产生直接的光线,同时安装维护及其容易。低安装高度也很好的衬托了大桥夸张的造型。
为了达到低维护的目的,Orus采用高质量的防破坏材质及工艺,确保较长的产品使用期限。配备电子镇流器提高了节能效果,延长了光源的使用寿命。
