Thorn索恩照明泛光灯为屯门的游泳爱好者打造安全舒适的环境
香港康乐及文化事务署非常重视为公众提供高质量的设施。位于屯门1区（新围苑）的全新游泳馆是一个一流的开发项目，造价高达7.9亿美元。户外设施包括一个带1,200座席看台的50x25m主泳池、一个25x15m户外训练池和一个25x15m户外教学池。Thorn索恩照明香港公司受托为这个令人惊叹的户外空间提供泛光照明解决方案，目标就是提供高质量的工作照明。
眩光控制对舒适度和安全性而言必不可少
Thorn索恩的Champion和Mundial C金属卤素泛光灯被选择用来为这三个泳池提供照明。Champion是一款用于训练场地的高性能泛光灯，对干扰光的控制处于同类最佳的水平。1kW的投光灯采纳了平置玻璃理念和集成式遮光板，能够对眩光和干扰光实现总体控制。Champion能够在最大限度减少溢散光的情况下实现最大的光学效率和精确的配光。
利用Champion泛光灯实现了0.5的均匀度。这样可以确保有足够的变化，既能防止光线千篇一律，又能保证对比度不会过于强烈。万一有游泳者出现意外状况，泳池中的视觉暗区会十分危险。
类似地，Mundial C是一款大功率、高性能泛光灯，专为所有运动场合及大型区域照明而设计。选用了1kW的热态再启动灯泡，利用灯光照亮泳池拐角，从而确保不会出现照明盲点，因为这种情况对游泳者和泳池周围的人都很危险。
计算机优化的光学系统结合独特的光学构造，可以确保水面眩光控制在小于56的范围内，同时仍然能保证光照直达泳池底部，以便最大程度地保障游泳者的安全。出色的眩光控制十分重要，不仅要确保泳池工作人员清楚地看见游泳者，同时还需要让观众、周围居民以及当地野生动物保持一定的舒适度。
防护等级为IP65的优质灯具和非对称安装让照明设备能够安置在泳池边缘，从而方便维护并保障安全。Mundial C尤其容易安装和维护，可从后方检视，能够实现自动断电。
